Does this sound familiar?

"I didn't even know that was an option."

  • Poor fittings chosen because nobody showed you what else existed.

  • Switches that clash with your tile once installed.

  • Budget fittings that fail in 12 months.

Before a single fitting gets ordered, we walk you through every option. No guessing. No settling.

"Every day in that kitchen I'm reminded the lighting is wrong..."

  • Under-cabinet strips that look like an afterthought.

  • Cool white task lighting that makes the whole room feel cold.

  • One switch controls everything. A mirror with just one downlight that's unflattering at 6am.

We don't just place downlights. We plan how your space feels at breakfast, at dinner, and every moment in between.

"They did exactly what we asked. That was the problem."

  • Power points were installed where you asked, but no one asked where your appliances would actually live.

Downlights were installed where you asked, but no one explained the shadows they could cast at the mirror.

Switches were installed where you asked, but no one questioned the cabinetry, doors or final layout.

An electrician who executes without advising isn't saving you money. They're passing the cost of their silence onto you. If something could be placed better, planned smarter, or cause a problem later, well raise it before the walls close.

The consultation is free. Getting it wrong isn't.

Our Renovation Electrical Process

Start With the Bigger Picture

We meet with you in person to understand what you’re renovating, why you’re renovating, and what outcome you want from the space. Whether it’s your forever home, an investment, a rental, or a renovation to increase value.

Your Style, Plans and Budget

We go through your design style, inspiration photos, drawings, building plans, cabinetry plans and budget so the electrical work is planned around the renovation. Not treated as an afterthought.

We Help Select the Products

We hand-select electrical products and fittings that suit your space, style and budget. We provide options with details like pricing, expected lifespan, warranty, features and benefits so you can make a confident decision.

We Refine the Options With You

If the first product options aren’t right, we adjust based on your feedback and provide alternatives. The goal is not to force a product on you, it’s to find the right fit for the design, function and finish of your home.

We Coordinate

Once products and layouts are selected, we communicate with your builder, designer or cabinet maker to make sure everything works with the build. If something clashes , we look for a solution before substituting or compromising the result.

We Stay Involved

Once the plan is locked in, we complete the rough-in and return for fit-off when the renovation is ready. Our communication stays open throughout the build, so if questions come up or adjustments are needed, the electrical details don’t get lost along the way.

STILL NOT SURE?

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an electrician involved before my renovation starts?

Yes. The best time to involve an electrician is before the renovation starts, while layouts, cabinetry, appliances, lighting, mirrors and finishes are still being planned.

This helps avoid poor lighting placement, awkward switches, missing power points and costly changes once the walls are closed up.

How early should I contact an electrician for a renovation?

As early as possible. Ideally, you should contact an electrician during the planning stage, before the builder starts and before cabinetry, lighting, appliances and wall layouts are finalised.

If your renovation has already started, we can still help, but early planning usually gives you better options, cleaner finishes and fewer expensive changes.

What makes SYNQ Electrical Co different from a standard electrician?

SYNQ Electrical Co focuses on renovation electrical work that is planned properly from the start.

We look at lighting placement, switch locations, power point positioning, appliance requirements, feature lighting, bathroom ventilation and the finished look of the renovation, so the electrical work supports the design instead of feeling like an afterthought. We run through the design and style of your home to ensure that the electrical choises and fittings compliment your style.

What areas do you service?

SYNQ Electrical Co services homeowners across Newcastle, the Hunter Valley, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, Stockton, Medowie, Raymond Terrace, Maitland, Cessnock, Bonnells Bay, Belmont and Swansea, specialising in renovation, lighting and premium residential electrical work.

Can lighting really make that much difference to a renovation?

Yes. Lighting can completely change how a kitchen, bathroom or living space feels.

Poor lighting can create shadows, glare, dark work areas and a flat-looking finish. Well-planned lighting can highlight the design, improve functionality and make the whole renovation feel more premium.

Can you help plan the lighting layout, not just install it?

Yes. We help homeowners plan lighting based on how the space will actually be used, not just where lights are easiest to install. This includes downlights, feature lighting, mirror lighting, under-cabinet lighting, LED strip lighting, dimming options and switch placement.

What electrical details are commonly overlooked in kitchen and bathroom renovations?

Most people think about the visible finishes first, tiles, cabinetry, tapware and benchtops, but the electrical products you choose, and where they’re positioned, have a huge impact on the final result. We help you select switches, dimmers, power points, lighting, exhaust fans, mirror options and feature lighting that suit the design, blend with the finish, and function properly in everyday use.

Do you coordinate with my builder or cabinet maker?

Yes. We can speak directly with your builder, designer or cabinet maker so the electrical details don’t get lost in translation. That means you’re not left trying to explain technical details, remember lighting positions or coordinate every power point and switch location yourself. We help make sure the electrical plan lines up with the cabinetry, layout and finished design before the work begins.

Can you install LED strip lighting in kitchens, bathrooms and joinery?

Yes. LED strip lighting can be installed under cabinets, inside shelving, behind mirrors, under vanities, in niches and around feature details. The important part is choosing the right LED strip, extrusion, diffuser, colour temperature and driver location so the end result looks clean, premium and intentional, not cheap or patchy.

Can you update the rest of our switches and power points to match our renovation?

Yes. If you’re renovating your kitchen, bathroom or laundry, we can also update the switches, dimmers and power points throughout the rest of your home so everything feels consistent.

This is a small detail that makes a big difference. New cabinetry, tiles, tapware and lighting can make old yellowed switches and mismatched power points stand out. We can help create a cleaner, more cohesive finish across the home.

Hey, I'm Jack!

After years working on renovations, and completing a few of my own, I noticed the electrical side was often treated like a tick-box item, not something that shaped how the home would actually feel, function and be lived in.

I started SYNQ Electrical Co to bring more care and planning to that part of the renovation, helping homeowners think through the details early, understand their options, and make decisions that support the design, not take away from it.
